お馴染みGeoff Keighley氏が主催とホストを務める年末恒例のビデオゲームアワード「The Game Awards」ですが、先ほどTGAとTwitterがライブ配信にまつわる提携を発表。今年のイベントがTwitter上でライブ配信される初のアワードショーとなることが明らかになりました。

発表によると、Twitterは2016年12月1日PST午後5時30分（日本時間の12月2日午前10時30分）にスタートするアワードを無料で世界中のTwitterユーザーと対応デバイス向けにライブ配信し、1画面上にショーのライブ配信とコメンタリ、ニュース速報、Twitterユーザー向けの投票、TGA関連のTwitterコメントを集約させるとのこと。

なおGeoff Keighley氏によると、今年の“The Game Awards 2016”はNextVRと提携したVRデバイス向けの放送が行われるほか、Tencentとの提携による中国市場向けのライブ配信も行われる予定となっています。
