先日、ライアン・レイノルズが一人二役で演じる新キャラクター“Dude”の愉快なプロモーション映像をご紹介したショーン・レヴィ監督、ライアン・レイノルズ主演の新作映画「フリー・ガイ」（Free Guy）ですが、国内を含む8月13日の公開がいよいよ目前に迫るなか、先週末にニューヨークで本作のプレミアイベントが実施され、レッドカーペットに“Halo”の実物大ワートホグが登場したことが明らかになりました。

Grand Theft Auto Onlineのようなオープンワールドマルチプレイヤーアクションゲー“フリー・シティ”のゲーム内世界とそれを取り巻く現実世界が舞台となる“フリー・ガイ”は、ゲーム内の銀行で窓口係としてルーチン通りの毎日を過ごす名も無いNPC“ガイ”が、ビデオゲーム世界の真実とサービス終了の現実を知り、ゲーム世界の破滅に立ち向かうという作品で、傑作ドラマ“ストレンジャー・シングス”を手掛けたショーン・レヴィが監督兼プロデューサーを務め、E.T.の発掘ドキュメンタリーやレディ・プレイヤー1で知られるザック・ペンが脚本を担当しています。
