先日、Future Publishingの経営的な問題から浮上した閉鎖の噂をご紹介したイギリスの大手ゲームメディア「CVG」ですが、新たにMCVがFuture Publishingに確認を行い、2015年2月にCVGの閉鎖を予定していることが判明。さらにCVGのライターや関係者も次々とこれが事実であることを告げる発言を行い動向に注目が集まるなか、先ほどCVGが閉鎖を伝える正式なメッセージを発表し、噂が事実となってしまったことが明らかになりました。

MCVの確認に応じたFuture Publishingのマーケティングを率いるDeclan Gough氏によると、CVGの閉鎖は著しい成長を遂げ1億PV/800万ユーザー規模に達した“GamesRadar+”への投資を見込んだもので、2015年2月以降にCVGのレビューとニュースを“GamesRadar+”に統合し、更なる成長を図るとのこと。（※ 既に同様の目的で系列サイト“Total Film”と“SFX”を統合済みだった）

なお、前述したCVG最後のメッセージを執筆した編集者Andy Robinson氏によると、CVGのコンテンツは“GamesRadar+”へと引き継がれるものの、ライターを含むスタッフの異動はなく、本質的な死を迎える状況を悲しむ関係者の声が多く寄せられる状況となっています。
