“Borderlands”や“Brothers in Arms”シリーズ、“Duke Nukem Forever”といった数々のMレーティング作品で知られる「Gearbox」ですが、新たにMidwayやDisney Interactiveで活躍したベテランJohn Vignocchi氏が“Gearbox Publishing”の製作総指揮に就任し、何やら家族に優しい全年齢向けの新IPを手掛けていることが明らかになりました。

John Vignocchi氏は、このIPが“Gearbox Publishing”の屋台骨を支える柱となるフランチャイズだと説明しており、全ての年齢のゲーマーを驚かせ喜ばせる新作のお披露目が待ちきれないと強調しています。

今のところ、新IPの具体的なディテールは不明ですが、John Vignocchi氏は（Gearbox Softwareではなく）“Gearbox Publishing”の製作総指揮であることから、外部スタジオと提携したプロジェクトである可能性が考えられるほか、氏自身が長年Disney Infinityを含むプロダクト開発を率いた人物でもあり、“Gearbox Software”本体との関係を含め、続報が待たれる状況となっています。
