今年6月9日に放送され、累計視聴者数が前年比8％増となる2,700万人超を記録し大きな話題となったビデオゲームフェスティバル「Summer Game Fest」ですが、新たにGeoff Keighley氏が“Summer Game Fest 2023”の実施スケジュールを発表し、2023年6月8日の開催を予定していることが明らかになりました。

今のところ、“Summer Game Fest 2023”の具体的なディテールは明かされていませんが、Geoff Keighley氏によると、来年はオンラインに加え、初の試みとして会場に観客を迎える対面形式のイベント開催を予定しており、6,000人が収容できるロサンゼルスのYouTube Theaterでライブ放送が行われるとのこと。

なお、今年の“Summer Game Fest”では、傑作The Last of Usのフルリメイク「The Last of Us Part I」やStarCraft IIのリード陣が集うFrost Giant Studiosの新作RTS「Stormgate」、マーベルテーマの戦略RPG「マーベル ミッドナイト・サンズ」、The Vanishing of Ethan Carterを生んだThe Astronautsの次回作「Witchfire」、「Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2」のシングルプレイヤーキャンペーン、Striking Distance Studiosの期待作「The Callisto Protocol」のゲームプレイデモを含む多数のお披露目が行われ話題となりました。
