音楽や映画、ゲームといったインタラクティブコンテンツを包括する総合イベント“SXSW”（South by Southwest）のゲームアワードとして、今年第5回目の開催を迎える「SXSW Gaming Awards 2018」ですが、本日SXSW Gamingが今年の部門別ノミネート作品をアナウンスし、昨年を代表する5タイトル、“Horizon Zero Dawn”と“NieR: Automata”、“PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds”、“スーパーマリオ オデッセイ”、“ゼルダの伝説 ブレス オブ ザ ワイルド”が見事GOTY候補に選出されたことが明らかになりました。

今年は、Horizon Zero DawnとNieR: Automata、PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds、ゼルダの伝説 ブレス オブ ザ ワイルド、Cuphead、Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrificeが6部門に選出され、最多ノミネートを果たしたほか、続くスーパーマリオ オデッセイとNight in the Woodsが5部門選出でリード。なお、授賞式は3月17日（土）に開催される予定となっています。
