昨日、多数の注目作が並ぶ“2020 Independent Games Festival”の部門別ファイナリストをご紹介しましたが、新たにIGFの授賞式と併催される第20回“Game Developers Choice Awards”の部門別ノミネート作品がアナウンスされ、小島監督率いるコジマプロダクションの野心作「DEATH STRANDING」がGOTYを含む7部門（ベストオーディオとベストデザイン、イノベーション賞、ベストナラティブ、ベストテクノロジー、ベストビジュアルアート）で見事最多ノミネートを果たしたことが明らかになりました。

また、Remedy Entertainmentの新たな傑作「Control」、TGA 2019のGOTYを勝ち取った「SEKIRO: Shadows Die Twice」、イタズラなガチョウをいきいきと描いた「Untitled Goose Game」、タイムループものの新たな金字塔「Outer Wilds」が同じくGOTY候補となっており、“Control”と“Outer Wilds”が5部門、“Untitled Goose Game”と“Disco Elysium”が4部門ノミネートで“DEATH STRANDING”に続く状況となっています。

なお、“GDC Awards 2020”の授賞式は、3月18日PT午後6時30分（日本時間の3月19日午前10時30分）にスタートし、Portalを生んだKim Swift氏がホストを務めるとのこと。
