現在サンフランシスコで開催中の“GDC 2018”にて、第20回“Independent Games Festival”の授賞式が執り行われ、疎外感を感じながら大人になりきれないネコと友人達の無軌道な日常やモラトリアムを描いたInfinite Fallの傑作アドベンチャー「Night in the Woods」が見事最優秀賞である“Seumas McNally Grand Prize”とナラティブ部門を含む2冠を達成したことが明らかになりました。

ゲームのルールとロジックを物理的なオブジェクトとしてステージに配置する独創的なパズルゲーム“Baba is You”が2部門を制し、Amanitaの新たな傑作“Chuchel”やQWOPを生んだBennett Foddy氏の壺男ゲーム“Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy”、TowerFallを生んだMatt Thorson氏の超高難度アクション“Celeste”といった注目作が受賞を果たした全8部門の受賞作品は以下からご確認ください。
