前年の“Infinite Warfare”から大きく販売を伸ばした“Call of Duty: WWII”の成功により、好調なホリデーシーズンの販売を記録し、2017年全体の売上げが33億5,000万英ポンド（約5,100億円、うち小売は7億9,000万英ポンド、およそ1,200億円）に達したイギリスのビデオゲーム市場ですが、新たにGfKとUKIEが2017年の英小売市場におけるビデオゲームの販売ランキングを発表し、「FIFA 18」が「Call of Duty: WWII」を抑え見事首位を獲得したことが明らかになりました。

報告によると、リテールゲームの販売本数は前年比で0.4％減となったものの、売上げについては2.1％増を記録し、前述したホリデーシーズンの好調が売上げ増を支えたとのこと。

また、2017年の同市場におけるパブリッシャーの占有率もアナウンスされており、販売本数（17％）と売上げ（22.2％）共にEAがActivision Blizzardを抑え首位を獲得。Nintendo Switchの好調が続く任天堂は販売本数で1ポイント、売上げで2ポイントを上げ、いずれも3位となっています。
