VGXとVGAを継ぐ年末恒例の大規模イベントとして、今年4度目の開催を迎える「The Game Awards 2017」ですが、本日イベントを主催するGeoff Keighley氏が今年のイベントに関する新情報をアナウンスし、新たに日本（ニコニコ）や韓国（KakaoTV）、ブラジル（UOL Jogos）、ロシア、中国（Tencent）を含む多数の言語で放送を実施することが明らかになりました。

“The Game Awards 2017”の放送は、12月7日PT午後6時/ET午後9時（日本時間の12月8日午前11時）に開始され、16のゲーミング/デジタルストリーミングプラットフォームを通じて配信が行われるとのこと。

また、世界中の才能ある演奏家とロックミュージシャンが集結する“The Game Awards”オーケストラの編成もアナウンスされ、数人の特別ゲストを迎え、ビデオゲームの楽曲を演奏する予定となっています。

今年の部門別ノミネート作品は11月14日に解禁され、12月前半には“Game Awards”セールがPSNやXbox Live、その他プラットフォーム上で実施されるとのこと。

なお、昨年の“The Game Awards 2016”はオーバーウォッチがGOTYを含む4部門を制し最多受賞を果たしたほか、前年比65％増となる380万アカウント規模の放送を記録したことが報じられていました。
