12月10日の放送が迫る年末恒例の大規模イベント「The Game Awards 2020」ですが、先ほどGeoff Keighley氏がGOTYを含む部門別ノミネート作品を紹介するライブ配信を実施し、今年はidの「DOOM Eternal」とSquare Enixの「Final Fantasy VII Remake」、Sucker Punchの「Ghost of Tsushima」、Supergiant Gamesの「Hades」、任天堂の「あつまれ どうぶつの森」、Naughty Dogの「The Last of Us Part II」を含む6作品がGOTY候補となったことが明らかになりました。

また、Naughty Dogの新たな傑作“The Last of Us Part II”が9部門10ノミネートを果たし、次いでSupergiantの“Hades”が8部門8ノミネート、Sucker Punchの“Ghost of Tsushima”が7部門7ノミネートを記録し、今年の賞レースをリードする状況となっています。
